In order to retain genetic diversity, which is essential for purebred dogs, we like to keep a number of breeding dogs available. We sometimes raise them here to watch their development and to work toward the completion of genetic testing and titles. Once those have been completed (or are near completion), we work toward finding the right home for these older puppies or young adults (they deserve families who have the time and means to provide for their needs). No payment to us is made. The dog is offered to you as a companion for life. If you are interested in contributing to the cause of preserving standard poodle health and proper temperament, please write. Approved families who take on the responsibility of one of our intact dogs will be screened.
Currently, we have no Guardian/Foster dogs available for placement, but feel free to contact us if you are interested in being placed on a waiting list. (A Guardian/Foster basically promises, via a contract, to love and care for the dog for life, with all rights/expenses any pet home would have, with the exception of any costs relating to breeding. The Foster/Guardian agrees to make them available to us either (if a male) as studs for girls of our choosing only, or (if a female), for breeding and then, again, for whelping/raising pups until weaned. The Guardian/Foster has no rights to breed the dog without our consent.) Again, there is no monetary charge from us to become a Guardian.
