Rommel comes from two very outgoing and beautiful dogs (see the picture of his sire, Truman, bottom left).

Alice, Rommel's mom, has tons of drive and comes from dogs who lived long and healthy lives. Both of Rommel's parents are very outgoing and sweet, and Rommel is chips off the old blocks.

We are very thankful for Rommel's calm nature because he is a very large boy, with lots of muscle. If I am successful at getting him on my lap at night (yes, I do that), he rolls on his back and just lays there. While he would enjoy being pet and loved, he is content being next to me and does not paw or squirm for attention. Rommel is truly a "whatever" kind of dog. He rolls with the flow and is just happy being our buddy.

10-Generation COI: 12.14%. What is this? While this figure is much higher than any of our other dogs, there is a very low percentage of Wycliffe in Rommel's lines, which will add tremendous diversity to future Harmony Mountain poodles, in attempts to improve the overall health of our breed.

Rommel is showing great promise as a retriever. He is proving to be a very good marker and, unlike many poodles, isn't adverse to water. He is a wonderful, extremely well-tempered dog, and we are honored to have him as a part of Team Harmony!

Rommel swept the four passes needed for his NAHRA Started Retriever title, completing it on 3/13/11. He did the same with his AKC Junior Hunter title, achieving it on 2/11/2012. He has also achieved his PCA Working Certificate.

We cannot thank Natalie Tessier of Poodles deGrenier enough for our boy. Natalie, Rommel's breeder, works hard at breeding historically correct standard poodles for health, temperament and conformation (from a working perspective--in line with the purpose of their creation). She is a true study of the breed and has worked hard at understanding genetics and how it affects our breed. Natalie has written articles for the Canadian Kennel Club and others on the subject. Truman, Rommel's sire who is shown bottom left, is her foundation sire. His beauty/structure absolutely takes my breath away. He is a great example of all the breed was created to be.
