Because we believe that correct structure is critical to a retriever's performance, we are working hard at improving the conformation found within our lines. That goal has led us to want to show at least one dog in conformation. We are hoping that Kiss and/or Boom, the dark apricot boy shown below from Rose's 5/22/08 litter, will be our show dog(s).

Ataxia (Neonatal Encephalopathy) DNA Results: "Clear" by parentage, so he cannot pass it to his offspring.
Von Willebrands DNA Results: "Clear" by parentage; meaning he can never get it and can't pass it to his offspring.
DNA Coat Color: BbeeDD is not affected by and does NOT carry the dilute gene; DOES carry the black, brown and cream-white-red-apricot genes (per DDC Veterinary Report 17034). What can you expect from this? Boom's "DD" result means his coat will not fade and he cannot produce pups whose coats will fade, regardless of who he is bred to.

Boom's Ancestors: Boom is our next hopeful. He is out of Am/GR CH Antigua Don't Look Back (aka "Valentino") and our very sweet and social Rose. Like both his parents, Boom also has substance, meaning he is not thin, but well-built, with a nice chest and weight to him. Not only is Boom's dad a champion, but three out of four of his grandparents are champions. His paternal grandmother has achieved "top producer" status (meaning she has produced at least 3 champions herself). Boom's sire, Valentino, has several top producing champions in his line. Valentino is owned by Marquis Diamond Standard Poodles in California, who was gracious enough to allow us to use him for our very special and beautiful Rose.

Kiss' Ancestors: Our little Victory "Kiss" is the grandaughter of Afterglow the Big Tease (her sire's father). Afterglow the Big Tease (aka "Donny") was the 2005 PCA Best in Show Winner. He has also won specialty Best in Shows in England and Scotland, and took other "all-breed" Best in Shows. Kiss' dad won his first AKC major, so he is also on his way to a championship. Her dam's pedigree is full of Australian champions, primarily from Jurado (Australia) and Wycliffe lines.
