TITLES AND AWARDS

“What Is A Title Really?"

Not just a brag, not just a stepping stone to a higher Title, not just an adjunct to competitive scores.

A Title is a tribute to the dog that bears it, a way to honor the dog, an ultimate memorial. It will remain in the record
and in the memory for about as long as anything in this world can remain. Few humans will do as well or better in that regard. And though the dog himself doesn't know or care that his achievements have been noted, a Title says many things in the world of humans, where such things count.

A Title says your dog was intelligent, and adaptable, and good-natured. It says that your dog loved you enough to
do the things that please you, however crazy they may have sometimes seemed.
And a Title says that you loved your dog, that you loved to spend time with him because he was a good dog, and that you believed in him enough to give him yet another chance when he failed, and that in the end your faith was justified.

A Title proves that your dog inspired you to have the special relationship enjoyed by so few; that in a world of disposable creatures, this dog with a Title was greatly loved, and loved greatly in return.
And when that dear short life is over, the Title remains as a memorial of the finest kind, the best you can give to a deserving friend, volumes of praise in one small set of initials before or after the name.

A Title is nothing less than love and respect, given and received permanently.

We've only just begun. Keep checking this page for updates on our titling progress. While I would like to take credit for our hunting titles, 90% of the praise goes to my husband, Richard. He gets up earlier than he has to to train before work, oftentimes braving bad weather and trips away from home to make them happen; all the while smiling because he loves the sport as much as our dogs do.

HUNTING:

Cedar Retrieving Live Pheasant (who pecked her the whole way back to Rich)
Serious, Loveable Titan
Bear Returning Duck to Hand

NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever and AKC Junior Hunter.

Cedar was the first AKC-hunt titled red poodle and the first dual-titled red poodle. She was spayed due to complications resulting from the delivery of her last litter. She is a very loyal (and protective) companion who has faithfully stood beside Richard in every aspect of his life, always ready for whatever he asks of her.

While we now have several hunting dogs to love and admire, she was our first titled dog and will always be Richard's favorite--their bond is irrefutable. She will live with us forever.

Titan approaches all things in life with the heart of a pup, even though he isn't anymore. He loves life and playing with Dad just makes it all the greater.

Titan is now working toward his NAHRA Intermediate/AKC Senior titles.

NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever and 1/2 way to her AKC Junior Hunter Title (after sweeping every test she has been entered in).

Bear is the first of our dogs to pass 4 out of 4 tests, thanks in part to all of the many lessons Rich has learned along the way. She has heart and a strong desire to please and greets everyone with a smile (literally).

She earned her NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever title at only 13 months of age and the completion of 4 passes within a single calendar year earned her NAHRA's Brass Band Award.

She will complete her AKC Junior Hunter title prior to moving to the next level.

Unlimited JJ
Misty Retrieving Duck
Unlimited JJ at 1st Hunt Test

3/4 the way to her NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever and 1/2 the way to her AKC Junior Hunter titles.

Misty is such a calm and loving girl until she goes hunting wtih Dad. She is gifted with the ability to know just when to be calm and when to fire up. She is a hard-charging girl when she is hunting or training. She will complete her NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever and AKC Junior Hunter titles in 2010, before moving to the next level.

She is a joy to have in our lives and serves as a great example to our other dogs. She is Bear and Cali's mom.

1/2 the way to his NAHRA Started Hunting Retriever title.

JJ is owned by David and Judy Stratford. Rich has been working with David and JJ specifically for hunt tests.

If you are looking for a hunting lab or are interested in stud service, please contact Dave Stratford.

JJ's pedigree is filled with Field Champions and Master Hunters.

CONFORMATION:

Playful, Loving Kiss
Gentle, Loveable Ace
Confident, Loving Kimber

UKC CH Kiss

UKC Show Champion Title

CH Kiss is the girl in our pack that can easily incite each and every dog to play.

Her movements are absolutely effortless and watching her run and play is awe inspiring. Her grace and beauty resulted in a title in just two weekends, despite a very bad haircut and the competition of other extremely beautiful poodles.

1/2 way to his UKC Conformation Championship

Ace is one of the most gentle and loving dogs that I have had the pleasure of knowing (let alone owning). He is beautiful in structure, with conformation built to work.

In addition to being a wonderful member of our family, he will contribute in many positive ways to our breeding program.

UKC CH Kimber

CH Kimber achieved her title with 6 competition wins in one weekend.

She is among the first in our pack to greet strangers in our home. She is a very confident and outgoing girl, who loves absolutely everyone.
